Mike joined the Summerseat Physiotherapy team following a Sports Science Degree and vocational work with young people with behavioural difficulties. Mike combines the principles of Sport Science with his knowledge gained whilst working at the clinic to use exercise as a way to compliment the rehabilitation process. Mike has experience working with clients with Spinal Injury, Brain Injury, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Amputees.
He has a keen interest in exercise and physical activity and its role in physical wellbeing and long term quality of life. Usually implemented towards the later stages of rehabilitation, Mike develops patient specific training programmes aimed at aiding an individual to fulfil their potential.
Many of our clients have used exercise as a gateway into competitive sport, which has helped maintain fitness and well-being long after the rehabilitation process.
Leading a team of assistants to help deliver programmes, Mike enjoys working as part of the close-knit team. He thrives on sharing his specialist skills as well as drawing knowledge from others around him.
He also understands the importance of sharing a common goal with the multidisciplinary team to ensure our clients’ wellbeing is at the forefront of everything. A real people person, he has excellent relationships with those that, like him, champion accessible and inclusive sports.
In his spare time Mike is a keen sportsman, he enjoys the outdoors and loves spending time with his family and friends.
