Before joining Summerseat Physiotherapy in 2024, Adam worked in the NHS at ISCAN as a Paediatric Physiotherapist overseeing complex patients in the community and clinic with a range of neurological conditions and developmental delays.  Creating and delivering home exercise programmes within the community, he was also the named physiotherapist for Cromwell High School where he assessed patients from age 0 – 19 years old in a clinic setting on a weekly basis.

Adam has a breadth of experience supporting young people with a range of specific conditions such as Erb’s Palsy, Talipes, Hypermobility, spinal injuries, Torticollis, Cerebral Palsy and traumatic brain injuries. He treats each one of his patients and families individually with a person-centred approach, helping people achieve their personal goals. He is very passionate about personalised healthcare and assists patients, families and staff with the tools to progress through their day to provide confidence and competence.

He knows the importance of manual handling with neurological patients to provide sensory stimulation, carry-over and facilitation, bringing experience with positioning, assisting to reduce tone/contractures, PNF and using various specific equipment/adjuncts to enhance patient experiences.

Adam also has experience of assessing, allocating and rehabilitating patients and has an active involvement in MDT meetings and joint working to risk assess and nurture a positive team ethos to always keep improving. He is confident, approachable and organised with a keen interest in neurology, oncology and palliative care but enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy. Physiotherapy and healthcare rely heavily on multi-disciplinary teamwork and he has demonstrated his ability to work effectively with other disciplines throughout his career.

Adam has strong interpersonal skills, known for being empathetic and encouraging especially when patients and their families find the rehabilitation process difficult. His skills managing other healthcare professionals such as surgeons and home care teams help improve collaboration and delivery of a more effective service. He makes sure he is always an advocate for his patients.
